Human Brain Facts
The human brain is such an intriguing and beautiful entity. It’s part of our internal makeup and yields such great powers and control, yet we are unsure of how to harness it. How can something so small in size be so infinite in capability? Without it, we would be nothing – we would not exist in human form and we would have no self-awareness here on earth. The human brain is needed to house our consciousness and determines every aspect of our lives while we are here. The best approach to maximizing its potential is dedicated ongoing research to further understand the circuitry, complexities and intricacies.
Following are some thought-provoking brain observations:
The human brain weighs an average of only 3lbs and can process over 70,000 thoughts/day. Small in size, large in presence, and an endless source of fascination.
The brain is its own galaxy. Acting as a command center for our nervous system, there are approximately 100 billion neurons present in the brain. This number equates to approximately the same amount of solar masses in the Milky Way Galaxy.
The blood vessels present in the brain are approximately 160,000 kilometers in length.
The brain has the capacity to generate enough electricity to power a light bulb.
Your brain can experience gamma brainwaves of faster frequencies while dreaming than when you are awake.
Energy & Connections
Your brain is constantly at work interacting with your consciousness and your external environment. It literally never stops. Whether you are awake or asleep, it is in constant motion. Even when you think you are not paying attention to all your surroundings, your brain is still taking everything in and recording it all. As with all things in nature, your brain also emits a constant ebb and flow of energy – both giving and receiving.
Our brains are active all the time and the amount of neuronal activity that can occur in just a mere second is colossal. The connections within our brains are immense and there are over 100 billion neurons that connect more than 500 trillion points of synapses. And every time we create a new memory or learn something new, we create yet more connections. This is why we need to make an effort to keep our brains healthy. We need to recognize the inherent value of our brains and make the utmost use of them. The minutia of daily life often masks our abilities and we tend to forget that we are more brilliant than we will ever know.
