On A Desert Island

If I were on a desert island with just my family, would I obsess about my invisible to others cellulite or the sparkly stretch marks on my tummy? Uh...no.....these three people love me for who I am and of course for the unconditional love that I provide them in return. So, why are we all so obsessed with these perceived imperfections?

Let's stop obsessing. Let's start embracing......and focusing on being the best we can be. Let's focus on doing the best that we can do to look and feel our absolute best, without obsessing about it. Geez, now that I write that out loud, I wonder if that even possible? Damn straight.

Use the anti-aging creams that I advocate for wearing, wear the leggings that lift your arse and make it look amazing, but don't obsess about your misperceived "flaws". But, don't rely on them for your self-worth. That just results in self-hate. Those who love, don't care about your stretch marks. I read somewhere that the five people you spend the most time with are a reflection of the person you are.....wow....think about that for a minute. Who are your five people? Do they care if your hair is long or short, or if your butt doesn't sit quite as high as it once did, or do they embrace and love you for you? If they aren't accepting of these self-perceived imperfections, and can't see deeper than skin, reconsider those relationships. I've been there....long ago....stuck in a relationship with someone who ridiculed and belittled me. Not a place I ever intend to revisit. Surround yourself with people that raise you up. They affect your thinking, your self-esteem, and your decision. Of course, you are your own person, but we are more affected by our environment than we think, so make it a positive one. Create your island, include positive, supportive people who want you to succeed.
