Listen
Equally as important as the power of the spoken word is your ability to listen. And when I use the word listen, I mean truly listen to the all encompassing – listen to others, listen to your soul, listen to what the universe has to say, and listen to your wishes. The act of listening will heighten your intuitive intelligence enabling you to ask better questions, gain better foresight, and increase your adaptability for intelligent change.
I remember when I was in my high school drama class, our teacher taught us to be able to speak to someone and at the same time actively listen to the conversations around us. The purpose being, from an acting perspective, was to allow you to listen to your external environment in the midst of performing, in case you need to improv or alter your acting style to engage your audience more effectively. It is a form of multitasking with a dual purpose where you are actively engaged in both situations without losing effectiveness or value for either. I grasped the skill, not for acting purposes, but for life in general.
The Art Of Observation
Learning the art of observation has assisted me on so many levels, for both business and personal purposes. The ability to have meaningful conversations, yet be actively engaging with your environment simultaneously, is strategically significant. It really forces you to be present in the moment at all times while interpreting your surroundings.
Observing lets you pick up on things you may not have noticed otherwise and keeps your brain active. Observing can help you identify false fronts and help you make better choices. The raw material gained from observation transmutes to knowledge alongside that of intuition. Building on all your personal skillsets will only benefit you in the long run in the pursuit to fulfill your dreams.
