Daydreaming Is A Positive Force

When we are awake we are typically immersed in our external experiences and we pay more attention to our ‘outside’ world, but when we are daydreaming the role becomes reversed. Daydreaming, in particular, shifts our focus internally and allows us to tune into our inner thoughts and focus intently on them while tuning out the outside world. More often than not, daydreaming is mistaken for a lapse in attention, however, it can actually be quite the opposite. When you observe people that are daydreaming, they are more than likely tuning into their passions and visualizing their wishes and intended goals.

When we are preoccupied with life circumstances, we tend to analyze and reanalyze our situations over and over again. The thinking process itself assists us in guiding our paths and making choices which often leads us to daydream while we are in social situations. The internal isolated thoughts become the focal point and we create various scenarios and potential outcomes to help us make better decisions. So understand that mindful daydreaming is a positive force that allows us to create and navigate mental mind maps and enhance the thinking process through the temporary escape of our outer worlds.
